New Route of Shri Kedarnath Ji Temple for Chardham Yatra 2015
After Flood in 2013, trekking route of Shri Kedarnath Ji temple washed away from Gaurikund to Shri Kedarnath Ji. Then BRO (Border Roads Orgainsation) play important role of making trekking route of Shri Kedarnath Ji Temple for 2014 Yatra.
In the year 2014, Public Transports & Tourist Taxi was stopped in Guptkashi/Sonprayag & after that pilgrims can travel by horses or by govt. vehicles and a longer way was constructed to reach Shri Kedarnath Ji but this way take 02 days to reach Shri Kedarnath Ji. On the First Day, Pilgrims can do trek17 KM till Linchauli & stay in camps provided by Uttarakhand Govt. Next Day Morning trek 05 KMs to reach Shri Kedarnath Ji & then Return Back to Linchauli after darshan or aarti.
But BRO working on full swing to reduce the way to reach Shri Kedarnath Ji for Yatra year 2015. Army helicopters MI 26 or other are ferrying the equipments, diesel for the generators of construction sites, road roller & bulldozer. The pilgrims will begins the trek from Gauri Kund to Rambara 07 km. (Seven kilometer) on the Right bank of river Mandakini and from Rambara pilgrims will cross the river Mandakini to reach Limchuli 05 Km (Five kilometer), from here onward there is a normal walk and no climbing on a well prepared broad trek of 03 km (Three kilometer) to Shri Kedarnath Ji. The buildings which were not damaged during the floods of year 2013 are being repaired and arrangements are being made to house five thousand yatris (pilgrims) near the Shrine, more facilities will be available at Linchuli for a night stay.
